Hamburg/Hanover/Neuruppin, 2 March 2023. Cureus, an integrated property company that specialises in developing and actively managing its own care home portfolio, completed the new compassio senior residence Neuruppin at Artur-Becker-Strasse 6 in 16816 Neuruppin (Brandenburg) and handed it over to the operator compassio Lebensräume & Pflege, a member of the SCHÖNES LEBEN Group, on 16 February 2023. Cureus itself acted as general contractor.

“Neuruppin has gained another much needed and highly attractive senior care facility”, says a delighted Karim Abdel-Rehim, project manager at Cureus. “The new care facility in Artur-Becker-Straße has been built according to our state-of-the-art system care home standards and architectural guidelines. Modern, well-proportioned care rooms with generous glazing, combined with a bright, friendly facade, make this a residence to truly feel at home in. With compassio, we have gained an extremely experienced expert for the operation. We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in construction for ensuring that the project has gone so smoothly and wish its residents and the compassio team all the best in this new care facility!”

“We are delighted by the successful completion of the new senior residence in Neuruppin and would like to express our sincere thanks for the great commitment of the team on site and the valuable support of the employees of all departments from the compassio headquarters”, emphasises Nicole Schütze, Regional Manager East of compassio Holding GmbH. “The first residents moved into the new care facility before the end of February are already enjoying its feel-good atmosphere. With our proven 'open house’ concept, we help our residents cultivate social contacts with the local community. At the same time, we offer an attractive programme of events and leisure activities to make our residents feel completely at home. We are also committed to the well-being of our staff, as they are the foundation of our high-quality care services. The team that was in place for the start of operations has already settled in well, and we are still looking for reinforcements as occupancy levels increase”.

compassio Seniorenresidenz Neuruppin with extensive care and service offer

This modern care facility for long- and short-term inpatient care has around 7,200 square metres of living and communal space. The U-shaped complex, with four floors and a partial basement, has been designed and built to energy-efficient KfW 40 specifications. The modern rectilinear facade is an architectural eye-catcher and blends harmoniously with the surrounding buildings thanks to its light colour scheme. In addition to the inviting foyer and a reception area, residents will also have access to a hair salon, a chiropody service and a restaurant with its own fresh cuisine on the ground floor, which can also be used by visitors and members of the local community, thereby strengthening ties between the residents and their neighbours. For maximum convenience, a residents’ laundry is located in the basement.

Of the 124 modern single rooms, 43 are not only barrier-free but also fully wheelchair accessible. All rooms are equipped with private bathrooms and residents may furnish their rooms themselves to create a private, homely atmosphere and add to the cosy comforts. In order to ensure a homely, family-like atmosphere, the residence is divided into eight living groups, each with its own communal area with kitchen and dining area as well as access to a terrace, balcony or roof terrace. These rooms serve as meeting places and are intended to promote and strengthen the residents' social contacts with each other.

A high-quality landscaped garden with ample greenery enhances the new residence’s feel-good factor. In addition to a spacious communal terrace, there are also plenty of rest and relaxation areas, spring stones and raised beds. The location of the new senior residence is extremely central in a well-established residential area. Lake Ruppin, parks and the city centre are all within easy walking distance. There are a range of shops, doctors and social amenities both in the town centre and in the direct vicinity. Nearby bus stops and 13 on-site bicycle and 16 car parking spaces (6 of which are wheelchair accessible) guarantee excellent accessibility for visitors and staff alike.

Building in accordance with high-quality, individual standard

The new building has been designed and built in accordance with the Cureus standard for system care homes. This places great importance on uniform, high quality standards and is oriented, among other things, towards the requirements of the operators, focusing on the residents and care staff. In this way, the structural processes and all properties are optimised from the inside to the outside: This concerns, for example, the size and arrangement of rooms to optimize space and walkways. Cureus care homes are also designed and equipped for maximum utility: interior corridors benefit from as much daylight as possible, every room has floor-to-ceiling windows that provide attractive views of the surrounding area, and the modern bathrooms and window fronts always follow the same standardised system approach. Each complex’s architecture and facade incorporate individual touches and are constructed to the highest quality standards, integrating seamlessly into their surroundings. The Cureus system approach also prioritises sustainability, both in terms of a care home’s long-term economic viability and its impact on the environment. All Cureus care homes are, for example, constructed in accordance with the ‘Effizienhaus-40-Standard’, while the bulk procurement of floor coverings or elevator systems, for example, ensures cost synergies and long-term maintenance contracts covering several properties also reduce costs for care home operators. The constant review and optimisation of the Cureus system care home standard guarantees the construction of care homes that truly meet demand.
