Cureus expands with the addition of a 60-strong general contractor team

  • Wieko GmbH and Aureus Residenzbau GmbH unite under the umbrella of Cureus
  • Cureus secures additional in-house capacity to meet growth targets
  • Team grows to over 100 employees

Hamburg, 18 January 2021. Cureus GmbH specialises in the development of system care homes and has expanded its business activities with the addition of a 60-strong in-house general contractor (GC) team. Cureus has concluded agreements with Wieko GmbH and Aureus Residenzbau GmbH, both of whom were previously active as property developers and general contractors and will now take on the role of general contractor under the umbrella of Cureus GmbH. As with external general contractors, the new team’s remit includes construction management and the awarding or management of the necessary specialist trades from the respective regions, right up to the turnkey hand-over of the senior residences. All properties, whether managed by internal or external GCs, will continue to be developed according to the Cureus system care home standard, which guarantees rapid completion according to high quality standards.

“We are pleased to have inspired and won these two experienced companies and warmly welcome our new colleagues to the Cureus family”, says Christian Möhrke, COO of Cureus GmbH. “Their addition further strengthens our construction expertise and gives us a new foothold in Marl for projects primarily in North Rhine-Westphalia. This also brings us even closer to the projects planned there”.

“With this merger, in addition to external GC partners, we are also securing important internal capacity, which will clearly help us to achieve our growth targets”, says Gerald Klinck, CFO of Cureus GmbH, “because in future we want to increase our completion volume from the current level of around 15 to over 20 care homes per year”.

“We are delighted to become part of Cureus with immediate effect and to be joining such a powerful team with an innovative planning approach in the field of care homes and to be able to contribute our experience and our subcontractor network”, says Frank Wieschollek, Managing Partner of Wieko GmbH. Peter Lücke, Managing Partner of Aureus Residenzbau GmbH adds: “The now even closer cooperation under one roof will certainly strengthen the achievement of Cureus’ high-quality standards and goals and is also a great opportunity for our employees in a market segment with a secure future”.

The Cureus team will thus grow to over 100 employees by the beginning of 2021.
