Groundbreaking marks the start of construction on a new senior residence in Lengerich in April – foundation stone laying ceremony in June 2021

Hamburg/Ulm/Lengerich, 16 April 2021. Following completion of demolition and site clearance work on the 8,000-sqm former KLR site at Schulstrasse 46 in Lengerich, the groundbreaking ceremony for the two buildings comprising the Lengerich senior residence is scheduled to take place on 19 April 2021. By spring 2022, the residence will offer 80 inpatient care places, 39 independent living apartments, ten intensive care places and 18 outpatient care places. Due to current coronavirus restrictions, the ceremony will be a small-scale affair, limited to guests directly involved in the construction, rather than to a wider circle of invited guests and stakeholders.

The residence’s developer Cureus, which specialises in system care homes, together with the future operator MEDIKO, the specialised care subsidiary of the SCHÖNES LEBEN Group, are planning a larger event to lay the foundation stone in June 2021 and will be inviting journalists, neighbours and interested parties to join local representatives at the ceremony. Official invitations with all the relevant details will be issued separately in due course.
