Hamburg/Lengerich, 30 November 2021. MEDIKO Seniorenresidenz Lengerich continues to visibly take shape. Cureus as the owner and builder and MEDIKO as the future operator of the Lengerich senior citizens' residence invited guests to the topping-out ceremony yesterday. Around 60 guests accepted the invitation, including Wilhelm Möhrke, mayor of the city of Lengerich, as well as planners, craftsmen and other representatives from politics, administration and the community. In addition to the actual ceremony, in-depth information about the new senior citizens' residence under construction was presented. The physical well-being was well catered for and a tour of the shell of the building was also possible as part of the event and was very well received by the guests.
"We were very pleased about the great interest and the lively participation in our topping-out ceremony and would like to thank all guests for their visit," said Kay Grünewald, project manager of Cureus. "After the complex demolition of the existing building at the beginning of the year, the structural work started in mid-2021. However, the construction site is progressing rapidly, so that we can now already celebrate the topping-out ceremony. We continue to envisage completion and handover to our long-standing and professional operating partner MEDIKO as early as next summer, i.e. after a good year and a half of construction."
Under construction are 80 generously sized, barrier-free single rooms, each with its own bathroom, for inpatient long-term and short-term care. Furthermore, 39 spacious assisted living units, a day care with 18 places and a residential group with ten flats for out-of-hospital intensive care are under construction. The range of services is spread over two buildings surrounded by a green area. The general contractor for the entire project is MBN GmbH from Georgsmarienhütte.
Carsten Völkerding, Branch Manager at MBN: "Despite the restrictions due to the pandemic, we are on schedule and sure that we will be able to hand over the project to Cureus and MEDIKO in summer 2022. Furthermore, we are very pleased that even in these times the custom of the topping-out ceremony as a thank-you for the craftsmen continues."
"We are very happy about the innovative, high-quality new building in Lengerich and are already very much looking forward to the opening in the middle of next year. We will be able to offer seniors in Lengerich an attractive living environment with modern and professional services and amenities," says Dirk Lorscheider, Managing Director of MEDIKO. "We have many years of experience in the operation of senior residences and would like to enable our customers to lead a self-determined, level and age-appropriate, beautiful life. In the coming months, we will also start looking for employees. We attach great importance to a motivating working environment and appreciative treatment of our employees." The new senior residence will create more than 80 crisis-proof jobs close to home in the areas of nursing, care and services.
Interested employees can already apply today. The allocation of care places and flats also starts now. Interested persons can already inform themselves, register and apply on the website www.lengerich-seniorenresidenz.de.
