Hamburg/Winsen (Aller)/Wesel, 23 November 2021. Cureus, an integrated property company that specialises in developing its own care home portfolio, has announced the completion and handover of the Insanto senior residence Wesel to the operator Insanto Seniorenresidenzen GmbH as at 19 November 2021. The property at Dinslakener Landstraße 19 in 46483 Wesel will now be integrated into the Cureus care home portfolio.

“The new senior residence has been built according to our state-of-the-art standard for system care homes”, explains Dipl.-Ing. Architekt (FH) Rüdiger Baum, Project Manager for Cureus. “Our standard focuses on the needs of future residents and ensures that they are not only happy with the high standard of care they receive, but also feel comfortable and perfectly at home in the residence. Our thanks go to everyone involved in the construction and to our operating partner Insanto Seniorenresidenzen GmbH. We wish residents and caregivers all the best for the future in this sustainably designed property”.

“As with all of our care homes, our new senior residence in Wesel allows us to relieve families, caregivers and residents”, says Jan Kaiser, Managing Director of Insanto. “In order to make life more enjoyable for our residents, we are guided by the principles of love, home and quality. We achieve our goal by maintaining a warm and heartfelt approach and combine daily structure with best-in-class care”. As the final preparations are made for opening, the Insanto senior residence Wesel has also created about 45 new and secure jobs. The residence will adopt an “open house” concept, which means that some of the services and amenities will be available to members of the local community, thereby strengthening the social ties between residents and neighbours as much as possible.

Opening at 19 November 2021: final few places still available

Construction of the new senior residence began in January 2020 and has been completed, on schedule, after around 18 months. The residence opened and welcomed its first residents this year. The last few care places are currently still available for full inpatient and short-term care. Prospective residents and staff can contact Insanto at 0281 475740 or by email (vw-wel@insanto.de).

Sustainable building with a strong focus on residents’ well-being

The 4,650-sqm site is now home to a modern senior residence with 80 care places. The new care home has four full stories and was built in accordance with the KfW 55 energy-efficiency standard. Heating is provided by an environmentally-friendly combined heat and power plant (CHP), which also generates electricity. With its modern, rectilinear facade and light colour scheme, the property is an architectural highlight that blends harmoniously into the surrounding residential area.

All of the 80 single rooms in the new Insanto senior residence Wesel, 20 of which are wheelchair-accessible, are equipped with their own bathrooms. All of the rooms can be individually furnished by residents in order to create a homely ambience and a private retreat. Social cohesion and a sense of community are also important, which is why two independent living groups, each with their own kitchen, lounge area and balcony, have been created on each upper floor.

In addition, Insanto senior residence Wesel, which has a total gross floor area (GFA) of around 4,650 square metres, also features a restaurant with terrace on the ground floor, which will be open to residents, guests and members of the local community. A hotel-style reception area, lounge with fireplace, hair salon, therapy rooms and in-house laundry round off the facilities.

Ample greenery and optimal transport links

The welcoming, generously proportioned outdoor facilities invite residents to enjoy a spot of exercise in the fresh air, while also offering opportunities to relax and socialise. In addition to a circular path and attractive water feature, the outdoor facilities feature a sun terrace, seating and a variety of fruit trees, berry bushes, trees and green spaces. The grounds of Insanto senior residence Wesel are also equipped with13 parking spaces.

The senior residence is conveniently situated in a well-kept residential area close to the region’s beautiful nature. The centre of the district is home to a selection of retail stores, restaurants, medical practices and other local amenities (e.g. banks, pharmacies, etc.). Insanto senior residence Wesel is also located near to a number of bus stops, thereby offering optimum connections to the local public transport system and ideal accessibility for visitors and staff.

Integrated standard ensures individuality and highest construction quality

The new senior residence will be designed and built in accordance with the Cureus standard for system care homes. This standard is based on exacting and uniform quality standards and is oriented to the needs of all stakeholders, including care home operators and residents. Care homes built to the Cureus standard are optimised in all respects. This concerns, for example, the size and arrangement of rooms to optimize space and walkways. Cureus care homes are also designed and equipped for maximum utility: interior corridors benefit from as much daylight as possible, every room has floor-to-ceiling windows that provide attractive views of the surrounding area, and the modern bathrooms and window fronts follow the same standardised system approach. Each complex’s architecture and facade incorporate individual touches and are constructed to the highest quality standards, integrating seamlessly into their surroundings. Th Cureus system approach also prioritises sustainability, both in terms of a care home’s long-term economic viability and its impact on the environment. All Cureus care homes are, for example, constructed in accordance with the ‘Effizienhaus-40-Standard’ (former KfW 40 energy-efficiency standard), while the bulk procurement of floor coverings or elevator systems, for example, ensures cost synergies and long-term maintenance contracts covering several properties also reduce costs for care home operators. The constant review and optimisation of the Cureus system care home standard guarantees the construction of care homes that truly meet demand.
