Hamburg/Hanover/Preußisch Oldendorf, 21 February 2023. Cureus, an integrated property company that specialises in developing and actively managing its own care home portfolio, has handed over the new compassio senior residence at Bremer Straße 9 in 32361 Preußisch Oldendorf to its operator compassio, a member of the SCHÖNES LEBEN Group. Olaf Joop Projektbau GmbH acted as general contractor for the entire project.

“Preußisch Oldendorf has gained another much needed and highly attractive senior care facility”, says Helge Feuereiß, project manager at Cureus. “The new senior residence has been built in accordance with our state-of-the-art system care home standards and architectural guidelines. Modern, well-proportioned care rooms with generous glazing, combined with a bright, friendly facade, make this a residence to truly feel at home in. With compassio, we have gained an extremely experienced expert for the operation. We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in construction for ensuring that the project has gone so smoothly and wish its residents and the compassio team all the best for many years to come!”

“We are delighted by the successful completion of the new senior residence in Preußisch Oldendorf and thank the on-site team and all of the employees at compassio Holding for their unfailing dedication and invaluable support”, says Maria Luise Paul, Regional Director of compassion. “The first residents moved into the new senior residence at the end of January with and are already enjoying its feel-good atmosphere. With our proven ‘open house’ model, we help our residents cultivate social contacts with the local community. At the same time, we offer an attractive programme of events and leisure activities to make our residents feel completely at home. We are also committed to the well-being of our staff, as they are the foundation of our high-quality care services. The team that was in place for the start of operations has already settled in well, and we are still looking for reinforcements as occupancy levels increase”.

compassio Seniorenresidenz Bremer Straße with extensive care and service offer

This modern care facility provides long-term and short-term inpatient care and boasts 4,800 square metres of living and communal space. A total of 84 new care places are spread over two full floors and a recessed top floor in generously proportioned, barrier-free single rooms, each with its own bathroom. Twenty-five of the rooms are fully wheelchair-accessible. Residents will be able to furnish some of the rooms themselves to create a private, homely atmosphere and add to the cosy comforts. On the ground floor, the friendly foyer with reception area and lounge extends a warm welcome to guests and residents alike. These are complemented by a restaurant with a full kitchen, a hairdressing salon and a chiropody service. These conveniences are also open to members of the local community, thereby strengthening ties between the residents and their neighbours. The residence also features communal kitchens and living areas on all floors. A high-quality landscaped garden with ample greenery enhances the feel-good factor of the new residence. In addition to a spacious communal terrace, there are also plenty of areas for rest and relaxation. Located on Bremer Straße, the senior residence couldn’t be more central or ideally situated. The nearby bus stop and 20 on-site parking spaces for cars, plus ten bicycle stands, ensure excellent accessibility for both visitors and staff alike.

Building in accordance with high-quality, individual standard

The new building has been designed and built in accordance with the Cureus standard for system care homes. This places great importance on uniform, high quality standards and is oriented, among other things, towards the requirements of the operators, focusing on the residents and care staff. In this way, the structural processes and all properties are optimised from the inside to the outside: This concerns, for example, the size and arrangement of rooms to optimize space and walkways. Cureus care homes are also designed and equipped for maximum utility: interior corridors benefit from as much daylight as possible, every room has floor-to-ceiling windows that provide attractive views of the surrounding area, and the modern bathrooms and window fronts always follow the same standardised system approach. Each complex’s architecture and facade incorporate individual touches and are constructed to the highest quality standards, integrating seamlessly into their surroundings. The Cureus system approach also prioritises sustainability, both in terms of a care home’s long-term economic viability and its impact on the environment. All Cureus care homes are, for example, constructed in accordance with the ‘Effizienhaus-40-Standard’, while the bulk procurement of floor coverings or elevator systems, for example, ensures cost synergies and long-term maintenance contracts covering several properties also reduce costs for care home operators. The constant review and optimisation of the Cureus system care home standard guarantees the construction of care homes that truly meet demand.
