Hamburg/Ulm/Preußisch Oldendorf, 23 June 2021. Cureus GmbH has announced the start of construction on the new senior residence at Bremer Straße 9 in 32361 Preußisch Oldendorf after successfully demolishing the property’s existing building. The new residence will be operated by the SCHÖNES LEBEN Group from Ulm via its subsidiary MEDIKO from Hanover, a specialist care provider with over ten years of experience in the inpatient, semi-inpatient care and assisted living sectors.

The first stage in the development of the approx. 4,300-square-metre site involved the demolition of two unused former commercial buildings and an adjoining building to make way for construction of the modern senior residence, which is now underway. Some of the material obtained from the demolition was crushed and stored on site to be recycled in the construction of the new residence, in keeping with the sustainability goals of the overall project. The property is being built according to KfW 40 energy-efficiency standards and has a modern combined heat and power plant that produces electricity as well as heat.

By late summer 2022, a total of 84 new care places will be created in generously designed, barrier-free single rooms on two full floors and one recessed floor. 25 of these rooms will also be wheelchair-accessible.
