Hamburg, 17 December 2021. Cureus, an experienced integrated property company for inpatient care homes in Germany, which is developing its portfolio by itself, has recently successfully completed senior residences in Alfeld, south of Hildesheim (Lower Saxony), and in Wesel (North Rhine-Westphalia) and handed them over to the operating partners Schönes Leben Gruppe/MEDIKO and Insanto. All locations will remain in the Cureus portfolio in the long term.

"With these completions, more than 180 urgently needed care places go into operation as planned," Christian Möhrke, COO of Cureus, is pleased to report. "Both properties have been built according to our unique system approach and thus combine resident comfort, high construction quality and optimal economic conditions for the operators. We wish the residents and employees a good time in the new senior residences."

Sustainable building with strong resident orientation in Alfeld

On the approx. 3,500 square meter site at Schulgasse 3 in 31061 Alfeld, an architecturally sophisticated senior residence has been built for MEDIKO, care specialist of the Schönes Leben Group. Alfeld has gained around 80 new jobs as a result. On three full floors and a staggered floor, 102 modern care places are now available in single rooms with private bathrooms. The building was constructed to the energy-optimized KfW 40 standard. Heating is provided in an ecologically sensible manner by a combined heat and power unit (CHP), which also generates electricity. A hotel-like reception, a restaurant with fresh cuisine and terrace, a hairdresser with pedicure, a modern care bathroom and an in-house laundry round off the facilities for residents. On the grounds, 17 parking spaces have been created, three of which are handicapped accessible. Further details on the project can be found here (press release dated 2 December 2021).

Wesel gets senior residence with extensive range of services

After a construction period of just 18 months, a modern senior citizens' residence with 80 care places has been built on a 4,650 square meter site at Dinslakener Landstraße 19 in 46483 Wesel. Insanto is the operator at the site, and around 45 new jobs have been created. The building has four full stories and was built to the energy-optimized KfW 55 standard. With its straight-lined and modern facade, an architectural eye-catcher has been created that blends in harmoniously with the surrounding residential development thanks to its light color scheme. The hotel-like reception, a restaurant with terrace, a lounge-like fireplace room as well as a hairdresser, therapy rooms and an in-house laundry complete the offer. 13 parking spaces are available on the site. All information on the new senior residence is contained in the press release dated 23 November 2021.

Integrated standard ensures individuality and highest construction quality

The new senior residences have been designed and build in accordance with the Cureus standard for system care homes. This standard is based on exacting and uniform quality standards and is oriented to the needs of all stakeholders, including care home operators and residents. Care homes built to the Cureus standard are optimised in all respects. This concerns, for example, the size and arrangement of rooms to optimize space and walkways. Cureus care homes are also designed and equipped for maximum utility: interior corridors benefit from as much daylight as possible, every room has floor-to-ceiling windows that provide attractive views of the surrounding area, and the modern bathrooms and window fronts follow the same standardised system approach. Each complex’s architecture and facade incorporate individual touches and are constructed to the highest quality standards, integrating seamlessly into their surroundings. Th Cureus system approach also prioritises sustainability, both in terms of a care home’s long-term economic viability and its impact on the environment. All Cureus care homes are, for example, constructed in accordance with the ‘Effizienhaus-40-Standard’ (former KfW 40 energy-efficiency standard), while the bulk procurement of floor coverings or elevator systems, for example, ensures cost synergies and long-term maintenance contracts covering several properties also reduce costs for care home operators. The constant review and optimisation of the Cureus system care home standard guarantees the construction of care homes that truly meet demand.
