Hamburg/Garbsen/Rethem, 25 June 2024. Cureus, an integrated property company that specialises in developing and actively managing its own care home portfolio, recently handed over the "Haus Momentum - Im Hier und Jetzt gut leben" living and health centre with 113 care places for inpatient long-term and short-term care to the operator WH Care. The new building is located at Osterheide 1a in 21714 Hammah (Lower Saxony). The town is located between Bremen and Hanover. The company H. Hesemann GmbH from Stadland is the general contractor.

"We are delighted to soon be able to provide the residents of Hammah with important and urgently needed care capacity to the most modern standards and in attractive architecture," says Lilli Braunagel, project manager at Cureus. "We are confident that, with the WH Care Group, we have also been able to gain an experienced and renowned operator that stands for personalised care and support. We wish the future residents and the WH Care team all the best in the new life and health centre 'Haus Momentum', which will be fully furnished in the third quarter of 2024. Preparations are already underway, which are extremely important and essential for a smooth start."

"From January 2025, we will be offering contemporary living, care and support, including all services for the elderly, at another location in Lower Saxony with 'Haus Momentum' in Hammah. We want to complete the furnishing by December 2024 and then start operations after Christmas and the turn of the year," says Marcus M. Mollik, Managing Director of WH Care Holding as part of the VidaCura group of companies, which has been named Operator of the Year 2024, adding: "Of course, we are also creating a special atmosphere here with our proven concept of life and health centres for the well-being of our customers, which is life-affirming and characterised by an optimistic mood. For us, it's about much more than just care: in addition to focussing on health promotion, we attach great importance to a sense of purpose, social relationships and being able to make a difference." WH Care also focuses on its employees: appreciation and a modern working environment, a trainee centre and special facilities (sports and education) for employees are important. "You're in for a surprise. Around 100 new jobs will be created in Hammah, the official start for the first employees has recently taken place and others will now join the team step by step until the opening," Marcus Mollik continues.

Modern living and health centre with social living group concept

The U-shaped building of the "Haus Momentum" life and health centre was constructed as a three-storey building with an additional staggered storey and blends in with its surroundings. A total of around 5,900 square metres of barrier-free gross floor area was created in accordance with the KfW's energy-saving Efficiency House 40 standard. The straightforward and modern façade was partially clinkered and blends in perfectly with the surrounding buildings thanks to its light colour scheme.

The life and health centre "Haus Momentum" has a total of 113 modern and generously proportioned single rooms, 50 of which are not only barrier-free but also wheelchair-accessible. On the ground floor of "Haus Momentum", behind the friendly and hotel-like entrance area with reception and foyer, there is a lounge and a spacious restaurant with a fresh kitchen and sun terrace. In keeping with the open house concept, this is also available to neighbouring residents and guests of the residence and will enable residents to socialise with each other and their living environment. The property also has its own laundry for residents' laundry and several care bathrooms.

All rooms in "Haus Momentum" are single rooms, each with its own bathroom and telephone, internet and television connection. It is possible to furnish the rooms yourself to create privacy and a place of retreat. Haus Momentum is divided into a maximum of six residential groups, one each on the ground and top floors and two each on the other two upper floors. The residential group concept is designed to ensure a homely, family-like atmosphere. To this end, each residential group has an attractively designed communal room as the centre of the residential group with a kitchen and dining area as well as a terrace, roof terrace or balcony, which will strengthen social contacts between the residents. There will also be Premium Light rooms, i.e. particularly high-quality and additional facilities for customers who want to live as if they were in a hotel.

Ideal location and optimal accessibility

The "Haus Momentum" living and health centre is located right in the centre of Hammah. In addition to direct access to the green surroundings, the new supermarket with café, the church, doctors and social facilities are just a few minutes' walk away. The nearby bus stop and railway station connect Hammah perfectly with the towns and communities in the surrounding area. Ten bicycle parking spaces and 19 car parking spaces – two of which are disabled-friendly – have been created on the grounds of the life and health centre. This ensures excellent accessibility for visitors and care staff. The park-like outdoor areas are also available to residents to promote exercise, health, relaxation and socialising.

Cureus proprietary standard guarantees best-in-class construction

“Haus Vida Victoria” has been designed and built in accordance with the Cureus standard for system care homes. This places great importance on uniform, high quality standards and is oriented, among other things, towards the requirements of the operators, focusing on the residents and care staff. In this way, the structural processes and all properties are optimised from the inside to the outside: This concerns, for example, the size and arrangement of rooms to optimize space and walkways. Cureus care homes are also designed and equipped for maximum utility: interior corridors benefit from as much daylight as possible, every room has floor-to-ceiling windows that provide attractive views of the surrounding area, and the modern bathrooms and window fronts always follow the same standardised system approach. Each complex’s architecture and facade incorporate individual touches and are constructed to the highest quality standards, integrating seamlessly into their surroundings. The Cureus system approach also prioritises sustainability, both in terms of a care home’s long-term economic viability and its impact on the environment. All Cureus care homes are, for example, constructed in accordance with the ‘Effizienhaus-40-Standard’, while the bulk procurement of floor coverings or elevator systems, for example, ensures cost synergies and long-term maintenance contracts covering several properties also reduce costs for care home operators. The constant review and optimisation of the Cureus system care home standard guarantees the construction of care homes that truly meet demand.
